On April 25, in advance of National Small Business Week, U.S. SBA Administrator Linda McMahon met with Central Florida Hispanic business owners.
The event was co-hosted by Prospera and the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Metro Orlando at the National Entrepreneur Center in Orlando. Prior to a roundtable discussion with Hispanic entrepreneurs, a brief press conference was held. The Honorable Linda McMahon delivered remarks for the media, National Entrepreneur Center partners and supporters, and the general community.
The roundtable was a unique opportunity for Prospera clients and HCCMO members who have also received SBA services or loans to meet the Administrator just 60 days into her role. A business owner herself, Administrator McMahon demonstrated her empathy for the experiences and challenges of entrepreneurs. She also stressed President Trump and his Administration’s support of small businesses as the backbone of the U.S. economy.
The discussion centered around the entrepreneurs’ needs and concerns, and additional opportunities for the SBA to support entrepreneurs and facilitate the start and development of small businesses. Topics mentioned included access to capital, training on the latest technologies, and challenges and opportunities specific to women entrepreneurs and second stage businesses. Administrator McMahon pledged to focus on the concerns expressed and to continue strengthening the various services offered by the SBA.
