What motivated you to serve on Prospera’s board as a volunteer?
My volunteer time is minimal compared to the inspiration I receive each time I encounter a Prospera client. Seeing the barriers being broken and the successes in business by Prospera’s clients provides an unwavering commitment to serve and provides hope for our community’s future.
What have you enjoyed the most so far about serving on Prospera’s board?
Engaging with my fellow board members and hearing about the clients coming through Prospera. My favorite part of each Regional Board meeting is the reporting from the TAC representative where we get to hear highlights of businesses coming through for business advancement services. To see the evolution Prospera clients from concept to business and then flourishing is amazing. Meeting clients in person is the icing on the cake.
What would you most like the local community to know about Prospera?
Prospera represents the best and brightest entrepreneurs in our communities. Prospera has made a significant economic impact in our community and deserves the attention of all – not only the Hispanic/Latino community.
Which are the three words that best describe you?
Loyal, Trustworthy, and Reliable
How do you achieve work/life balance?
By accepting there is no such thing as balance at any given moment in time. There will be times that work is more demanding, and at other times, family and personal life will get more attention. However, achieving cumulative balance requires developing a skill to recognize when you need rest, a reset and boundaries.
Where is your favorite place to have a meeting outside of the office?
At a Prospera client’s facility or coffee shop! Favorites include CFS and Stemma Coffee.
What is one item still on your bucket list?
Travel to Antarctica. I have a lot of travel destinations remaining on my bucket list, but reaching Antarctica is probably the biggest one (and the one that scares my husband the most!). I could spend days talking about all of the bucket list travels I still want to check off.
