South Florida Hispanic-owned business: MIP
Monica Patino is an innovative entrepreneur with proven experience in developing, positioning and growing food and beverage brands in distribution channels. Originally from Colombia, Monica obtained a Master’s degree in International Business Administration from Northeastern University in Boston, after obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Universita Cattolica Del Sacro Cuore in Milan (Italy). In Italy she worked for global corporations such as SGS and Univillage Consulting. She later moved to Miami and in 2015 co-founded Miami International Promoters LLC, a promotional agency specialized in experiential and in-store services tailored for the food and beverage industry.
MIP assists Latin American brands in the introduction of their products into the U.S. food and beverage market. They help customers through brand positioning and sales growth, offering marketing intelligence, merchandising, outsourced sales, events and in-store demos. MIP is focused on positioning brands and products at the highest level, creating, implementing and executing strategies for points of sale in distribution channels.
Monica came to Prospera seeking business guidance, and was awarded with two business grants. The accounting assessment and QuickBooks training were important to improve the back office processes of the company. In 2018, MIP launched an operating platform called Anymerca to improve point of sale productivity by providing real-time data to clients, facilitating the visualization of field team performance in supermarkets, retailers or convenience stores and allowing managers to make faster and more accurate decisions.
