Technology Academy May 2021
Prospera’s 6th Technology Academy took place online and in Spanish from May 10 to 13, 2021. Hispanic entrepreneurs were empowered with information about the latest trends, tools, and updates in technology for small businesses. Among the many attendees that participated during the four days, 35 attended all four sessions and obtained a certificate of completion.
This year’s Technology Academy was made possible thanks to the support of Hillsborough County and TECO. Prospera Business Development Consultants Roy Rojas and Antonio Perez were joined by an exclusive group of speakers and Prospera clients who shared their knowledge and experiences with the attendees, covering a variety of topics as described below –
- On day one – Raul Castro, CEO of DPersonas, talked about available tools and technology solutions for daily business operations. Prospera client Tony Selvaggio, CEO and Founder of eSmart Recycling, also shared his knowledge and experience about this topic with the audience.
- On day two – Richard Santos, CEO at Santis Web, talked about how to use mobile apps to increase sales and the different forms available for taking online orders. Prospera clients Katherine Allen and Judith Miranda, partners at TableDot, joined Richard in discussing this topic.
- On day three – Michael Firsching, Technology and Cybersecurity Risk Manager at JP Morgan joined the academy all the way from Germany to talk to Hispanic entrepreneurs about cybersecurity and the internet’s best safety practices for business. Prospera client, multi-business-owner and podcast host Dr. Vivian Badillo also joined the academy on this day to expand on the topic.
- On day four – Alex Rodriguez, Founder of YMMY Marketing, closed the academy talking about the importance of modern and effective digital omnipresence for businesses. Prospera client and marketing consultant Lina Collazos joined Alex in this discussion and helped wrap up the academy.
Thanks to the support of Hillsborough County and TECO, now 35 Hispanic entrepreneurs are better equipped with the up-to-date knowledge and tools to advance their businesses and enhance their daily operational processes. At Prospera, we look forward to continuing offering specialized business trainings focusing on acting as a catalyst for positive community change by contributing to the growth and success of Hispanic-owned businesses.
