Conrad Santiago, Private Wealth Advisor and owner of Conrad Santiago & Associates with Ameriprise Financial Services, is an example and committed supporter of the Hispanic entrepreneurial spirit. Conrad was one of the founders of Prospera in Central Florida, and served as the organization’s first Board Chair for five consecutive years. Throughout 25 years, he has continued to donate to our mission and serve as a volunteer in different capacities, currently again as a member of our Statewide Board of Directors. - What are your company’s mission and services?
Our mission at Ameriprise Financial is to help clients make the best financial decisions for themselves. - What led you to serve or continue serving on Prospera’s Board of Directors?
My commitment to give back to our community and my passion for Prospera’s mission.
- Where are you originally from?
I was born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico. That is where I married and then moved to Orlando, FL.
- Which are the three words that best describe you?
Dedicated, Trustworthy, Resourceful.
- What advice would you have appreciated hearing when first starting your career?
Believe in yourself, be disciplined, work hard and, above all, be honest.
- What is the most important lesson you’ve learned throughout your career?
If you truly help others and act in their best interest, you will be successful. Also, knowledge is very powerful!
- How do you achieve work/life balance?
It is important to understand what is important in your life. When you understand that, then achieving a work/life balance becomes a normal process through planning.
- How do you stay informed about trends in your industry?
It is my responsibility to stay informed for the benefit of my clients and my team. As a Private Wealth Advisor, I have access to reputable and objective research through the Investment Research Group (IRG). A few times a year I participate in various meetings and conferences where I get to hear from the top analysts, fund managers and leaders in the industry. I also read industry publications, including the Wall Street Journal.
- Which social media platform do you use most frequently?
LinkedIn is the platform that I use. It allows me to share important articles related to financial planning.
- Can you tell us one item still on your bucket list?
I don’t have a particular “bucket” list item I want to do but I continue to travel to learn about other cultures and history.
