The Hispanic Community Champion is an award that recognizes a non-Hispanic individual who has lead by example in supporting the progress of the Hispanic community in Central Florida. This year’s recipient will be Dr. Ann McGee president of Seminole State College for her involvement in the Hispanic community.
The Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes an individual who has made significant and lasting contributions to the development and empowerment of the Hispanic community in Central Florida. The recipient of this award is uniquely chosen by the Don Quijote Awards Selection Committee. This year, the honor goes to Enzian president and former TV executive Henry Maldonado, who has an extensive background in the film and television industry and has been a member of the Entertainment/Music Business Advisory Board.
“The Don Quijote Awards remind us each year of the level of talent that exists in our Central Florida community,” said Augusto Sanabria, president and CEO of Prospera. “It is a wonderful opportunity to recognize individuals who contribute significantly to our community’s development and prosperity.”
“We are proud to recognize the contributions of these honorees that have left such a profound impact in our community. The Don Quijote Awards give us the opportunity to celebrate these leaders surrounded by the community they serve,” said Lourdes Mola, Chair of the HCCMO.
The Don Quijote Awards are made possible thanks to the support of Walt Disney World Resort, Florida Blue, CenturyLink, Darden, Florida Hospital, Wells Fargo, Bank of America, JP Morgan Chase & Co., Orlando Health, Orlando Magic, Duke Energy, Fields Auto Group, and UPS, among others.
