When you hear about flower arrangements, you think of beautiful flowers bringing smiles and colorful life to a desk, a party or a living room. Likewise, when you hear of starting a small business, you also think about a very colorful journey.
For Juan Pablo Troya and his parents, that is exactly what happened when they started their own family business in Charlotte, North Carolina. They are the perfect example of those curious entrepreneurs who are hungry for new challenges and financial independence as a family.
Juan Pablo and his parents started their journey two years ago. They saw an opportunity to buy an existing flower shop in Charlotte and turn it into the family-run business they always dreamed of. Juan Pablo’s mother took over as the artistic talent making floral arrangements, while Juan Pablo and his father focused on the daily operations and strategic business development of the business.
Juan Pablo started working with Prospera in late 2017 for general guidance and marketing ideas. Today, Flower Hut continues to be a local, family-owned and operated flower shop. The shop buys flowers and plants directly from the growers, eliminating the middle man and providing fresher and more affordable arrangements for all occasions. This entrepreneurial family recently introduced an innovative product to its arrangements called the “forever rose”–basically a real rose that can last for a year, maintaining its original texture and appearance.
