West Coast of Florida Client: Amalia Bracho
Gabriel Bracho was an outstanding artist, distinguished for extending his brush beyond the traditional canvas. He used to illustrate his feelings and imagination on creative surfaces and produce distinctive art pieces. On special occasions, Gabriel would decorate his daughter’s clothes to elevate her otherwise simple outfits. Similarly, his wife Velia Bosch was well-known for her creative soul. She authored books and invented games that encouraged children’s imaginations, and she inspired others to express themselves through art and fashion. This couple of outstanding Venezuelan artists are the late parents of Prospera client Amalia Bracho, who inspired by their art decided to venture as an entrepreneur with her own clothing line, Bracho+Bosch. She established her business in Tampa Bay in January 2022, offering unique fashion pieces that exhibit harmony between art and fashion and can serve as a form of self-expression. Distinctively, each of her pieces derives from her parents’ original illustrations.
In 2022, Amalia sought Prospera’s guidance and support to develop an efficient operational business plan and to set goals and projections for Bracho+Bosch. Since then, Prospera has provided Amalia with one-on-one consulting to advance her business and awarded her with business advancement services for an optimized business plan, a thorough legal assessment, and an effective marketing and sales plan. Today, Amalia is successfully selling her clothes in a local store, and online on her website. She hopes to see her fashion pieces become a globally recognized, contemporary brand one day.
Amalia advises other Hispanic entrepreneurs to take time to use all the resources available in their communities to fully understand their business. She explains that Prospera provides entrepreneurs with the tools they must have in to make informed business decisions. Moreover, Amalia suggests brainstorming and networking amongst entrepreneurs and to take chances. She says, “Fear will get in your way; learn to dance with it. Enjoy the journey and be as well prepared as you can be for next steps and roadblocks.”
