Client Spotlight – Ta Contento

Ta Contento Mex Fast Food

North Carolina Client Spotlight – Nora Anaya and Hans Vargas

Nora Anaya from Bolivia, and Hans Vargas from Mexico, met at a food truck, got married, and founded Ta Contento a local food truck that offers authentic Mexican fast food in alternating locations within Chapel Hill. With every meal they serve, Nora and Hans celebrate their Hispanic heritage and show their care and love for their North Carolina community.

Before they established their business, Nora and Hans started working closely with their Prospera business consultant to prepare and submit a micro-loan application, enhance their business plan, and fine-tune their budget and projections. After the COVID-19 pandemic started, Prospera awarded Ta Contento with a business plan grant to improve their post-pandemic strategy and enhance operations.

Ta Contento gives back to the North Carolina community.

Since August 2020, Ta Contento partnered with Cedar Grove United Methodist Church to serve the Chatham County community once a month for “as much as they can pay.” On the second Thursday of every month, Ta Contento and the church put together an event to offer free and discounted meals to local families, especially those financially affected by the pandemic. At Prospera, we are very proud for being a part of Nora and Hans’ entrepreneurial journey and for witnessing their growth and positive impact in the North Carolina community.
