North Carolina Client Spotlight – Emir Manrique
Emir Manrique is an accomplished Venezuelan graphic designer and the owner of Emir Designer, offering graphic design, corporate branding, and digital marketing services in Charlotte, North Carolina. However, this was not Emir’s original business idea.
In 2018, Emir came to Prospera seeking guidance and support to start a cleaning business. However, after a thorough assessment and strategic business evaluation, Emir pivoted to a digital marketing business because of her vast experience in marketing and graphic design. At first, Emir was not sure if she could pull off such a feat, but with Prospera’s in-culture and focused business guidance and support, she was able to define her business approach, products, and services. In 2019, she was ready and confident to start her entrepreneurial journey with the establishment of Emir Designer.
After launching the business and being affected by the pandemic in 2020, Emir came back to Prospera to seek help with access to capital. With Prospera’s assistance, Emir was able to apply and get approved for both a Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loan and a COVID-19 Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL). Additionally, Emir was chosen as one of Prospera’s clients to participate in the Cornell Women’s Entrepreneurship certificate program, further helping her solidify the foundation, sustainability, and growth of her business.
Emir is an example of the many women entrepreneurs who have been able to achieve financial independence through entrepreneurship. She continues to steadily grow her business while doing something she truly loves every day. For more information about Emir Designer, please visit emirdesigner.com
