In addition to her professional responsibilities with the bank, Maggie serves as a Prospera Regional Board Member in South Florida, where she contributes her time and perspective to support entrepreneurs and strengthen the local business community. What are your workplace’s mission and products/services?
Capital One’s core mission is to change banking for good. This means leveraging technology, data, and an entrepreneurial mindset to make financial tools easier and more human. Rather than following a traditional approach to banking, we focus on helping customers succeed by bringing ingenuity and humanity to their everyday financial experience.
What motivated you to serve on Prospera’s Regional Board as a volunteer?
Serving on Prospera’s Regional Board is a natural extension of my work at Capital One. Prospera serves an entrepreneurial segment of our community that is vital to our local economy. Personally, I find immense fulfillment in helping minority small business owners navigate their financial journeys, and volunteering with Prospera allows me to combine my professional experience with my commitment to supporting equitable growth in our community.
What would you most like the community to know about Prospera?
I want the community to know that Prospera’s doors are open to everyone. The organization supports entrepreneurs through every stage of starting, sustaining, and growing a business. Prospera also serves as an important bridge by connecting entrepreneurs with community leaders, financial institutions, and government agencies. Thanks to these partnerships, entrepreneurs have access to specialized bilingual consulting and training at no cost.

Intentional, grounded, and collaborative.
What is the most important lesson you’ve learned throughout your career?
The most important lesson I’ve learned is that true fulfillment doesn’t come from personal gain; it comes from helping others succeed. When you focus on lifting others, you build meaningful relationships rooted in trust. There is tremendous satisfaction in seeing everyone around you grow together.
How do you achieve work/life balance?
For me, work/life balance comes down to one simple belief: I work to live, not live to work. I give my full attention to my work during the day, but I am equally intentional about making time for my family, my health, and my love of travel. When I’m working, I’m fully present. When I’m away from work, I strive to be just as present with the people and experiences that matter most.
What is one item still on your bucket list?
My bucket list is still far too long to narrow down to just one item. One goal I hope to accomplish is visiting at least one new country every year after I retire. For me, life is about continuous discovery, and I look forward to exploring more of the world.
