North Carolina Client – The Palermo family
Scultori, LLC. is a family-owned and operated business servicing Charlotte, North Carolina. They offer an array of handyman services to their community including carpentry, interior design, painting, floors, tile, drywall, and cabinetry. The inspiration for their family business started when Maria and Nogui Palermo Sr. moved from New Jersey to Charlotte to reunite with their son, Nogui Jr., and their daughter-in-law, Samaara. The Palermo family’s goal was to form a family business where they could all work together and strive for a better life.
Nogui Sr.’s 25 years of carpentry and handyman experience led to the creation of Scultori, LLC. Before establishment, the Palermo family reached out to Prospera for guidance and assistance with all the aspects of registering their new business. In 2019, Scultori officially opened for business. All the family members decided to put into practice their experience to perform their roles within the company-Samara does the marketing, client services, and budgeting, Nogui Jr. oversees the strategic planning, Maria does the contracts, filling, and bookkeeping and Nogui Sr. is the lead carpenter and handyman.
When the Covid-19 Pandemic began, it slowed down the Palermo family’s business.
However, with continuous help and support from Prospera, the Palermos were able to get their business back up and running within a couple of months. Prospera provided Nogui Sr. and his family with QuickBooks® consulting to improve his accounting practices, and a Business Plan grant to enhance the business operations. Along with his family, Nogui Sr. is working hard to grow their business. The family has already seen their gross sales more than triple in less than a year and look forward to opening a storefront where they would be able to focus more on carpentry and bathroom remodels.
