What is your workplace’s mission and services?

The Latin American Association (LAA) is the oldest and largest Hispanic organization in Georgia. Our mission is to support the Latino immigrant community in integrating, adapting, and thriving in their new environment. We offer a wide range of services and programs designed to empower individuals and families, including Women Empowerment and entrepreneurship, educational initiatives, job trainings and employment assistance, immigration legal services, and family support programs.

What motivated you to serve on Prospera’s Technical Assistance Committee as a volunteer?

I was motivated to serve on Prospera’s TAC as a volunteer because I believe in their mission to empower entrepreneurs and small business owners within the Hispanic community. By providing them with the necessary resources and support, we can help them succeed and, in turn, strengthen our entire community. Volunteering allows me to contribute my skills and experience to a cause I’m passionate about and make a tangible difference in people’s lives.

What have you enjoyed the most so far about serving on Prospera’s TAC?

What I have enjoyed most about serving on Prospera’s TAC is seeing the incredible growth and success of the entrepreneurs we support. It’s rewarding to see how our resources help them overcome challenges and achieve their goals. Working with a dedicated team that shares a commitment to impacting the Hispanic community has been inspiring.

Additionally, Prospera is a great partner of the Avanzado Juntas! Women Entrepreneurship Program at the LAA, providing additional resources that help entrepreneurs continue growing their businesses. This collaboration empowers women entrepreneurs and ensures they have the additional support they need.
