What are your workplace’s mission and products/services?

As part of the Southern Company portfolio, we provide natural gas solutions to 4.4 million families and businesses. We are committed to delivering clean, safe, reliable, and affordable energy while helping ensure the vitality of our communities for generations to come.

What motivated you to serve as a Prospera volunteer?

Choosing to volunteer with Prospera was an easy decision once I learned about its meaningful work to expand economic opportunity and strengthen prosperity in our community. The knowledge, guidance, and resources Prospera provides to help small business owners launch, sustain, and grow their businesses are invaluable and deeply needed.

What have you enjoyed the most so far about volunteering with Prospera?

What I have enjoyed most is seeing small business owners prosper with Prospera’s support. I am continually inspired by the ambitious entrepreneurs who bring their ideas, courage, and determination to this organization. Their willingness to work hard, pursue their dreams, and lift others along the way is a powerful reminder of what is possible when talent meets opportunity.

What would you most like the community to know about Prospera?

I would want the community to know that Prospera is a trusted partner for anyone seeking business guidance, structure, or direction. Its team is deeply committed to helping small businesses become sustainable, successful enterprises, investing the time, energy, and resources needed to help entrepreneurs thrive.

Which three words best describe you?

Empathetic, genuine, and structured.

What is the most important lesson you’ve learned throughout your career?

Whatever you choose to pursue, professionally or personally, approach it with passion, curiosity, and a genuine desire to grow. The effort, care, and energy you invest will shape what you receive in return. Simply put, the more you put into something, the more meaningful the outcome can be.

How do you achieve work/life balance?

Work-life balance has been a challenge throughout my career, but with time I have come to appreciate that time is the one resource we can never reclaim. I have learned not to wait for the “right” moment to rest and recharge, because that moment rarely arrives on its own. Instead, I try to protect personal time by scheduling it intentionally. Doing so allows me to bring my best to my work while also being more present for the family and friends who matter most.

How do you stay informed about trends in your industry?

I strive to remain a student of the business. I make it a priority to read at least one industry-related article each day, not only to deepen my understanding of the industry, but also to better align my work with the organization’s goals and contribute to our continued success.

Where is your favorite place to have a meeting outside of the office?

My favorite place is the sunroom behind my home or, even better, somewhere in Costa Rica, which remains my favorite destination to visit.

Which social media platform do you use most frequently?

Facebook, and yes, I realize that this may be considered a little old-school, at least according to my kids.

What is one item still on your bucket list?

One item still on my bucket list is to explore faraway destinations across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. I look forward to experiencing new cultures, learning from different perspectives, and creating lasting memories along the way.
