Joseph Abraham and his wife Lely Abraham are the owners of a So Fresh franchise, along with his mother Sonia Talarico and her husband Roberto Gatti. Located in Palm Harbor on the West Coast of Florida, their family-owned and operated business offers casual cuisine, juices, and smoothies.
Initially, the Venezuelan family attempted to obtain a loan through a private banking institution; however, they were not well prepared and didn’t get the funding approval they needed to start their business. In October 2020, with a strong sense of urgency to learn how to access capital and do business in the United States, the couples reached out to Prospera for guidance and support. After finding a convenient location for their So Fresh franchise and preparing better to start their entrepreneurial journeys, the couples were able to secure a substantial loan from the Small Business Administration. With the new funding, they were able to begin operations, hire staff, and start serving clients successfully in January 2022.
