Central Florida Clients: Rick and Christopher Castillo
Rick and Christopher Castillo are the father-son force that runs Castillo Engineering, LLC. Established in 1998, their business has progressively become a trailblazer in its industry in the United States. Located in Maitland, Florida, the Castillo family serves the Central Florida community with expertise in full service (electrical, structural, medium & high voltage) solar and energy storage design, engineering, and consulting services for projects ranging from residential to utility-scale.
After attending the 2006 Don Quijote Awards Gala, a prestigious award ceremony presented by Prospera and the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Metro Orlando (HCCMO) to recognize businessmen and women in Central Florida whose efforts have translated into success for themselves, their industries, and our community; the Castillos were inspired to seek Prospera’s guidance and support. On that same year, Prospera assisted the Castillos in the process of incorporating Castillo Engineering as an LLC, since it was originally established as a sole proprietorship business. Additionally, Prospera provided them with personalized consulting and granted them with advanced business development services to perform market research. With Prospera’s support, Rick and Christopher were able to better understand the local ecosystem, improve their market reach, and increase their capacity.
In 2021, Castillo Engineering came full circle after winning their own Don Quijote Award for Hispanic Business of The Year (more than five years). Today, Castillo Engineering has seen a 60% growth compared to last year and continues to make strides towards expanding the firm’s product offerings, reach and overall capacity. In the future, Rick and Christopher want to continue growing their business until their family owned and operated business becomes the largest solar engineering firm in the country. Furthermore, the Castillo’s recently became members of the Prospera Clients’ Circle by committing to give back to our organization, contributing towards assisting more Hispanic entrepreneurs with resources, guidance, and support to start, sustain, and grow their businesses.
