An opportunity to make us count only comes around once every 10 years… let’s participate for the wellbeing of our families!
In partnership with Florida Counts 2020 Census, Prospera invites everyone in our community to participate in the census process taking place until April 1.
The data captured during the 2020 Census will affect the determination of federal funds allocated to our state (for Medicaid, SNAP, Head Start, Section 8, roads and transportation, public safety, and more). It can be answered in Spanish, online or by phone. The information is confidential and protected for 72 years.
In 2010, excluding 1% of the population resulted in a loss of $178 million for Florida. Which is why it is imperative to make us count.
The 2020 Census is well underway and is ready for America to respond. The first invitations by mail for an estimated 140 million households are arriving between Thursday, March 12 and Friday, March 20. The public is encouraged to respond to the 2020 Census online, over the phone, or through the mail with their paper questionnaire as soon as possible.

Florida Counts Census 2020 is a statewide initiative formed by seven philanthropic and nonprofit organizations throughout the state of Florida.
As the third largest and fourth fastest growing state in the country, an accurate count is essential for Florida to receive its fair share of federal funding, which is 1/3 of Florida’s total revenue.
