Juan Carlos Martinez is the Vice President and Lead Commercial Banking Relationship Manager at Wells Fargo and serves as a Prospera Regional Board Member in Georgia. What are your workplace’s mission and products or services?
As a Commercial Banker, I help local businesses grow by understanding their goals and connecting them with the right financial tools and support. Whether it is lending, cash management, or expanding their business, my role is focused on helping businesses thrive. Commercial banking is really about building long-term relationships with the people who keep our community running.
What motivated you to serve as a Prospera Board volunteer?
I am very excited to serve on the Prospera Board because it gives me the chance to give back to the community that has supported me. There are so many talented individuals and promising business ideas that just need a little guidance to get going. I have learned so much from others over the years, and I am grateful for the opportunity to pay it forward.
What would you most like the community to know about Prospera?
Prospera is a close-knit organization that is focused on making a meaningful impact on the community. It truly excels at putting people first and supporting business owners for long-term success.
What is the most important lesson you’ve learned throughout your career?
The world is smaller than we think, and people are more connected than we realize. Treat others the way you want to be treated because it comes back the same way. A good recommendation from someone can open many doors.
How do you stay informed about trends in your industry?
One of the main benefits of working for a large financial institution is access to an economics team that shares information about the economy, interest rates, and industry research. If I am short on time, I like to read The Morning Brew for a quick update.
Where is your favorite place to have a meeting outside of the office?
I feel like you really get to know someone by going out for a meal. It is more relaxed than an office setting, and people tend to open up. Good food always makes the conversation better.
What is one item still on your bucket list?
I love to travel and have been fortunate to see many parts of the world. One major experience I still hope to have is going on an African safari.
