What motivated you to serve on Prospera’s board as a volunteer?

Prospera’s expansion to Atlanta represents a significant step in providing essential resources and guidance to aspiring entrepreneurs pursuing their American Dream. As a board member, I am proud to support this mission, which reflects my own entrepreneurial journey.

Fourteen years ago, when I started my business, I received invaluable support from various agencies and individuals that taught me best practices and fundamental principles, allowing me to transform an idea into a successful business. These resources were either free or affordable, making a profound impact on my path as a small business owner.

With its presence in Atlanta, Prospera aims to offer similar opportunities to new entrepreneurs, empowering them to navigate the complexities of business ownership. This initiative not only fosters economic growth but also strengthens our community by nurturing diverse enterprises. I am committed to ensuring that Prospera continues to provide accessible resources that help individuals achieve their dreams in the business world.

Which are the three words that best describe you?

Hardworking, Connector, Dedicated.

How do you achieve work/life balance?

When you’re a business owner, work/life balance is very hard. Building a business isn’t easy and requires great commitment and many sacrifices.

However, that doesn’t mean that I ignore my husband and friends. In most cases, they have become part of the entire experience of building a business. My husband has been my biggest cheerleader and support and, luckily, he’s one of my business partners. But I have to admit that I have sacrificed time with my loved ones for the sake of the business.

Honestly, the entrepreneur’s way of life is not for everyone, but if you choose it, you have to keep your mindset on the goal and prioritize.

What is the most important lesson you’ve learned throughout your career?

Being in business is not a sprint; it’s a marathon. Success requires endurance, patience, and strategic planning.

How do you stay informed about trends in your industry?

Public Relations Society of America, PRNews, Ragan, and PR Daily.

Which social media platform do you use most frequently?

I use mostly Facebook and LinkedIn.

I’ve found something interesting about these two platforms. While the general understanding is that LinkedIn focuses specifically on professionals and businesses, in many cases, I have received more attention for my work posts on Facebook. As a result, I dedicate equal attention to both platforms for business purposes; you never know who might be reading what you share.

Both Facebook and LinkedIn offer unique advantages depending on your target audience and marketing goals. Facebook excels in reaching a broader consumer base, making it ideal for brand awareness and engagement, while LinkedIn is more effective for B2B marketing and professional networking. This dual approach allows me to maximize my outreach and connect with diverse audiences.

What is one item still on your bucket list?

World domination? But I’d like to see the Northern Lights, and thanks to climate change, there are more and more places to see them.

Gina’s dedication to fostering opportunities for entrepreneurs and her commitment to meaningful connections reflect her passion for community growth. At Prospera, we are grateful for her impactful leadership and support of Hispanic entrepreneurs!
