Meet Prospera Technical Assistance Committee (TAC) Member, the West Coast of Florida, Daniel F. Martinez III
Daniel F. Martinez III serves as Senior Vice President, West Florida Region at Florida Business Development Corporation, a Certified Development Company within the U.S. Small Business Administration’s 504 loan program. Through his work, he helps businesses obtain financing for real estate and equipment. In addition to his professional role, Daniel serves as a Prospera Technical Assistance Committee (TAC) Member in the West Coast of Florida, where he contributes to advancing the organization’s mission through his knowledge of business guidance and resources that support entrepreneurs throughout different stages of the business cycle. What are your workplace’s mission and products/services?
Florida Business Development Corporation is a Certified Development Company in the Small Business Administration’s 504 program helping owner-managed businesses obtain fixed-rate financing on owner-occupied real estate and equipment. We are the second largest firm in this program among more than 200 companies nationwide, averaging over 400 loan approvals a year across Florida, Georgia, and Alabama.
What motivated you to serve on Prospera’s TAC as a volunteer?
Helping business owners obtain assistance and guidance in all facets of the business cycle. These owners are often passionate about their craft, but they do not always know where to turn for help.
What have you enjoyed the most so far about serving on Prospera’s TAC?
Watching businesses become successful after receiving support from Prospera at the ground level. I know of one Prospera client who recently sold their business for several million dollars.
Which three words best describe you?
Passionate, driven, and motivated.
How do you achieve work/life balance?
With a young family, this is unfortunately difficult to achieve consistently. I try to start work at least three days a week around 5 a.m. so I can get ahead of the day.
Where is your favorite place to have a meeting outside of the office?
Centro Asturiano de Tampa. I enjoy introducing people to the organization and the legacy my ancestors from Spain helped build.
What is one item still on your bucket list?
Visit Spain within the next three to five years to spend time with family.
