Meet Our Governing Board: George Bermudez

At Prospera, we are proud to have leaders who bring passion, expertise, and a deep commitment to our mission. Today, we’re excited to introduce George Bermudez, a dynamic professional whose leadership has made a lasting impact within our organization and throughout the Miami Metro community.

Professional Journey

With 36 years of experience in commercial banking, credit, and leadership, George Bermudez has built a distinguished career grounded in strong client relationships and business growth. He currently serves as the Business Banking Market Executive for Miami-Dade and Monroe counties at Bank of America, where he leads a team that delivers financial advisory, lending, treasury, and international banking solutions to businesses across South Florida.

George’s professional path has been shaped by a genuine passion for helping businesses thrive. Before joining Bank of America, he served as Senior Vice President and Head of Corporate/Commercial Lending at U.S. Century Bank, overseeing a major portfolio of corporate and commercial clients.

A Miami native, George earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Florida International University, majoring in Finance and Management. He also completed a two-year Sports Management program at Miami-Dade Community College—proof that his drive to excel extends beyond the boardroom.

A Passion for Service

George’s commitment to success goes far beyond the financial world. Deeply invested in giving back to his community, he has served in several leadership roles that reflect his values and dedication.

At Bank of America, he champions diversity and inclusion as an Executive Sponsor for HOLA Miami, the Miami Hispanic Business Council, and LGBT South Florida initiatives.

His impact extends beyond the bank. In addition to serving on Prospera’s Governing Board of Directors since February 2020 and currently serving as our Board Chair, he is a Board Member of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Miami, and Past Chair of the Miami-Dade Beacon Council.

Whether mentoring small business owners or helping create more inclusive opportunities for entrepreneurs, George approaches every role with the same focus: building stronger, more vibrant communities.
