Originally from Argentina, Emiliano Gonzalez is a creative director, storyteller, transcultural expert, and the founder of The Brand Building Shop in Charlotte, NC. Backed by 15 years of experience in the advertising and entertainment industries, Emiliano leads a creative agency that helps purpose-driven organizations with brand strategy and consulting, design, advertising, content production, and more.
In 2020, amid the COVID-19 outbreak, Emiliano thought, “If we start now, it can only get better,” and that is when The Brand Building Shop was born. He developed a unique concept of narrative design based on his transcultural background, passion, and skills, and turned it into a creative business. However, Emiliano had little knowledge of entrepreneurship. He reached out to Prospera for guidance, support, and to learn how to run a creative business in North Carolina.
With Prospera’s help, Emiliano has been able to turn his passion into a profitable and purposeful business. He went from a freelancer with an idea to becoming a successful entrepreneur and even a provider for Prospera advancement services, helping other small businesses develop their own brands. The Brand Building Shop is also currently leading SOMOS!, a year-long campaign for the Latin American Chamber of Commerce of Charlotte to feature some of the most outstanding Hispanic businesspeople in the local ecosystem.
With team members in the U.S., Argentina, and Spain, and serving a global market, The Brand Building Shop is committed to helping nonprofits and companies with environmental, social, and educational purposes tell their stories and connect with their audiences. Emiliano’s personal advice to other Hispanic entrepreneurs is, “Your obstacle is your superpower,” encouraging them to embrace their cultural differences and use them as their unique selling points.
