South Florida Client: Albany Rojas Carrero

From Purpose to Impact: Serving the Immigrant Community Through Law

Albany Rojas Carrero, a Venezuelan attorney, opened Rojas Law Office in Palm Beach County in early 2024 with a mission to provide accessible, compassionate legal services to immigrants navigating complex immigration matters. Inspired by her own migration journey and a desire to help others, she left the nonprofit sector to start something of her own—a firm where community, mentorship, and impact could coexist.

Her entrepreneurial journey began with limited resources and no outside funding. She started from her home and a shared workspace, all while trying to build a client base and manage the operational demands of a new business. In mid-2024, Albany learned about Prospera through The Space Connect. She reached out and received support through business consulting, an accounting assessment, and QuickBooks training. With this guidance, she gained financial clarity and developed a stronger business foundation.

Albany shares this advice for other Hispanic entrepreneurs:

“The path already exists—give it your personal touch. Trust professionals. You don’t have to know everything.”

Leading With Empathy and Cultural Understanding

Albany focuses on immigration law, including family-based petitions, removal defense, and humanitarian visas. She also runs Volviendo a la Ley, a mentorship program for immigrant attorneys working to reestablish their legal careers in the U.S.

What distinguishes her practice is her personal understanding of the immigrant experience. Having immigrated as an adult, she brings deep cultural insight to her work—meeting each client with empathy, trust, and transparency.

Looking Ahead

Today, Albany leads a growing team and continues to expand her reach across Palm Beach County through community initiatives and digital content. Her long-term vision includes hiring more immigrant women, opening additional offices, offering employee benefits, and digitizing her mentorship programs to reach aspiring attorneys nationwide.
