Central Florida Client: Joanna Bucaro, owner of All Kids Spanish
Originally from Guatemala, All Kids Spanish CEO and Director Joanna Bucaro counts on more than 20 years of experience working with children and providing them with Spanish enrichment programs, bilingual story time, and cultural activities. In 2007, Mrs. Bucaro established All Kids Spanish as a mobile program, offering a variety of Spanish language programs to children from 18-months to 5th grade. As demand grew, she subcontracted assistance and offered some of the programs in local community venues. By 2015, 50 students were enrolled, and she needed a new plan.
Mrs. Bucaro began working with Prospera and in 2016 she was awarded two Prospera grants to enhance and expand her business: one for developing her business plan and the other for a legal assessment. Additionally, Prospera provided guidance to achieve short and long-term goals as well as opting for a better business structure for its legal and accounting needs. With Prospera’s assistance, Mrs. Bucaro was able to double student enrollment, rented her own location, and contribute to the local workforce by hiring four full-time employees.
In 2019, Joanna Bucaro was recognized as a leader and a great example in the Central Florida community for Hispanic entrepreneurs and early language education. She earned several Family Favorite Awards, including first place as Favorite Foreign Language Program and Favorite Homeschool Program, third place as Favorite Cooking Class, and fifth place as Favorite Summer Camp from Playground Magazine, as well as Héroe Hispano from Hispanos Media.
