What are your company’s mission and products/services?
Truist is one of the top 10 commercial banks in the country. It is a full-service bank that believes in inspiring better lives and communities. As a Mortgage Loan Consultant, I have spent the past 22 years helping customers achieve their dream of homeownership.
What motivated you to serve as a Prospera volunteer?
As part of the board of the Charlotte Latin American Chamber of Commerce, I saw the relationship they have with Prospera and how together they help more small businesses. That inspired me to contribute to the mission of both organizations. Through my work with Truist, I have also seen the impact financial institutions can have in helping businesses start, grow, and sustain themselves.
What have you enjoyed the most so far about serving on Prospera’s board?
The entire experience has been rewarding because it has given me a new perspective on Charlotte’s small business community. I am passionate about serving the community and its members. Through these leadership roles, I have had the opportunity to engage directly with community members, listen to their feedback, and better understand their needs.
Which three words best describe you?
Passionate, dependable, and tenacious.
What is the most important lesson you’ve learned throughout your career?
Earlier in my career, I had the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues on a project designed to support small business owners. At the time, I did not fully understand the impact the project would have on others. Years later, I encountered a similar opportunity and realized how powerful collaboration can be when addressing challenges and creating opportunities.
How do you achieve work/life balance?
I am both a morning person and a night owl, so I use those times to stay productive. That allows me to create space throughout the day to spend time with my family and myself. I enjoy playing tennis, exploring new restaurants, and watching a good movie.
What is one item still on your bucket list?
Going back to Peru and reconnecting with my roots, culture, and my mother’s home.
