Meet Prospera Technical Assistance Committee (TAC) Member in the West Coast of Florida, Yvette Segura
Yvette Segura is a member of Prospera’s TAC, where she combines her decades of experience in financial services with her dedication to empowering future business owners. She is the president of her own practice, Yvette Segura Consultation, and before that, she worked with USAA for over 30 years. With executive leadership experience, Yvette uses her skills to assess entrepreneurs’ needs. Keep on reading to get to know her.
What motivated you to serve on Prospera’s Regional Board as a volunteer?
I’ve been on the Prospera TAC for almost three years. This is one of my favorite volunteer efforts, where I am able to use my 37+ years of corporate experience to work with my teammates as we evaluate the needs of new and upcoming businesses in our community. I love seeing the creative, entrepreneurial spirit of Prospera’s clients go from concept to reality.
Which are the three words that best describe you?
Authentic, gracious, humble; my goal and my hope is that these are three words others use to describe me.
How do you achieve work/life balance?
It starts with loving what you do. That’s the beauty of Prospera’s mission. It helps entrepreneurs do what they love through a business goal. During my career, I learned, mostly by doing it wrong at first, the importance of establishing boundaries that allow me to take care of myself and my family. You can only be the best for your business or your team if you find ways to stay grounded and healthy, emotionally and physically.
How do you stay informed about trends in your industry?
The only way to stay relevant within any industry is to be involved, to read voraciously, and to foster relationships. Throughout my career, I have learned to value these three habits as keys to success.
Where is your favorite place to have a meeting outside of the office?
Any place that allows you to enjoy a cup of coffee or an easy meal in a relaxed setting. Doing so allows the parties to get to know one another on a more personal level before diving into the business.
Yvette’s passion for evaluating the needs of new businesses, combined with her corporate experience, makes her a key ally of Prospera’s mission.
