Prospera

Frequently Asked Questions

How can Prospera help my business?

Prospera can help business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs with individual consulting, education, and access to valuable resources. Services include individual and personalized business consulting, access to experts on different business topics and industries, guidance on minority certification and procurement, business seminars in Spanish to sharpen skills and prepare to start or grow your business, handholding to help you access capital from traditional banks or microlenders for your business, and additional professional services to advance your business, which are underwritten and vetted by Prospera.

The sooner the better! You can get assistance from Prospera at any stage of business.

If you haven’t begun or registered your business yet, you can receive guidance to get started in the right direction, to analyze your business idea during the start-up phase before you act on it. And if you already own a business, Prospera can help you resolve challenges, strengthen your company, and increase your success.

Prospera is not a lender but its consultants help clients plan and apply for capital from other sources—microloans, traditional loans, SBA loans, and grants. Assistance ranges from assessing how much capital you need to which types of funding you could qualify for and how to apply.

Voluntary donations help Prospera continue delivering its program to entrepreneurs without charging for services. We raise funds from companies, individuals, foundations, and government throughout the year to cover expenses and continue investing in our community.

Prospera currently serves entrepreneurs in Florida, North Carolina, and Georgia. PROPEL provides an opportunity for third parties to sponsor delivery of Prospera’s services in additional markets.

The first step to get assistance if you are in initial stages of business or have not worked with Prospera before is to attend a Prospera orientation. This seminar covers information on how Prospera can help your business and critical business topics such as U.S. legal structure and tax options, licenses and permits, state regulations, and financing options. All seminars are offered in Spanish and open to the public.

The Prospera service model is unique and integral, to help at any stage of business from idea to growth. Our services have been designed and improved since 1991, specifically for the Hispanic entrepreneur, and are available in Spanish.

Clients can receive assistance from Prospera business development consultants, subcontracted professionals in different fields, workshop presenters who are subject matter experts, and community volunteers from different sectors and industries who play key roles throughout our organization.

Donations make all Prospera services possible—from educational programs to consulting services—at no charge to clients. Donations enable us to serve more Hispanic entrepreneurs to help them achieve their business ownership dream, succeed as small business owners, and create jobs in our communities.
