What is your role at UPS?

Global Employee Experience Manager

What motivated you to serve on Prospera’s board as a volunteer?

I was motivated to serve on Prospera’s board because of the remarkable growth in Latino entrepreneurship, with Latinos opening businesses at a rate of 34% faster than other groups. I believe in Prospera’s mission to support these businesses, and I want to contribute to encouraging our community and advancing economic prosperity.

What would you most like the community to know about Prospera?

I want the community to know that Prospera is dedicated to empowering Latino entrepreneurs by providing essential services such as marketing plans, legal assessments, and training. Our amazing staff is passionate and committed, helping countless Latino business owners navigate challenges and achieve their goals.

What is the most important lesson you’ve learned throughout your career?

The key lesson I’ve learned in my career is that you can lead from any position. With a service-oriented mindset, you improve not only yourself but everyone around you. My favorite quote of all-time is, “If serving is beneath you, leadership is beyond you.”

How do you achieve work/life balance?

Work-life balance has always been tricky for me. I prefer the term “work-life harmony,” which emphasizes blending responsibilities more fluidly. For example, today I focused on being a great mom and took a few hours off for family time. Tomorrow, I’ll jump back into my projects while Uber Eats handles dinner. A practical tip for achieving harmony is to leverage outside help—like using Uber Eats for meals, Instacart for groceries, or Care.com for cleaning services.

What is one item still on your bucket list?

I love running and I want to be a more serious runner, so on my bucket list is the Walt Disney World Marathon! If I’m going to be miserable running that long, I might as well be doing it at The Happiest Place on Earth!
