With more than 10 years of experience working on the quality and treatment of water, Puerto Rican Luis Velez is passionate about helping families access clean water that is purified and free of contaminants. In 2015 he founded MyAguaTech to develop customized solutions for Central Florida clients to improve their access to high quality water. They aim to increase awareness of the benefits of drinking clean water, to help homeowners understand what is in their water and the best way to treat it. They also serve commercial locations.
Referred by the University of Central Florida Business Incubation Program–a partner of Prospera at the National Entrepreneur Center–Luis approached Prospera in 2016 for additional resources to grow his business. Prospera was able to help Luis develop a business plan to clearly define and focus on achieving his business goals. Prospera also helped Luis to create a professional and effective brand and website, guided by a new marketing plan to reach and attract their target market. Most recently, Prospera’s consulting staff was able to help Luis access additional capital to finance his growing operation.
“We are very grateful for the help and support that Prospera has given us, for helping us reach our business goals.”
MyAguaTech currently has five employees and an office in downtown Oviedo, where people can bring water samples to test it for contaminants and analyze treatment options. Their services include sales and rentals of water softeners, automatic carbon filter and reverse osmosis. To learn more, visit myaguatech.com.
